ROBSART STREET, SW9
Client: Higgins Construction Ltd
Value: £1.5m
Details: The construction of an 8 storey concrete frame with associated groundworks.

Our contract included pile attendance, pile caps, lift pits, drainage, superstructure, external works and the supply and erection of a luffing jib tower crane. Despite heavy snow, high winds and rain the project was completed ahead of programme and without incident.
SPRING PLACE, NW5
Client: Sandwood Construction Ltd
Value: £700,000
Details: The construction of a 9 storey concrete frame with associated groundworks.
Probably one of our most demanding projects to date. The site is bounded on three elevations by existing structures with a Network Rail Viaduct slicing the remaining 4th elevation in half until 3rd floor level. As usual with inner city design the footprint of the new building covers almost the entire site leaving very little space for material, plant or formwork storage. This virtually non existant storage space resulted in all materials being delivered on a “just in time basis”.
In addition to the above logistical issues the site was further complicated with the disconnection of the pile caps from the ground floor slab and superstructure. Due to the viaduct being only 2m away from the building the potential for vibration transfer was dealt with by way of rubber bearing pads and rubber padded void formers, all installed sandwiched between the pile caps and ground beams and the underside of the ground floor slab.
The project was completed on time, without incident and with weekly inspections from Network Rail.
ST GEORGES ESTATE, E1
Client: Telford Homes Plc.
Value: £5.5m
Details: The construction of 7no concrete frames and associated groundworks.
St Georges Estate is a large housing estate situated directly between the The Highway and Cable Street E1 and is a short distance from Tower Bridge and the Royal Mint building. The scheme consisted of the demolition (by others) of several existing structures to be replaced with new ones, along with new infrastructure.
This contract is quite unique as it is spread over several different locations over a number of different roads covering the entire length of the estate. Careful consideration had to be given to the hundreds of residents still occupying the remaining buildings and the management of all deliveries, including internal site-to-site plant and lorry movements.
Our contract works included pre-demolition service diversions of underground services, new pedestrian and disabled access routes, pile probing, piling mats, pile attendance, foundations, drainage including heading connections, half basement structures, superstructures ranging from 6 storeys to 10 storeys and all external works.
All works were completed on programme and without incident.
